    I have had this Bonneville 900 since January 2024, I did not know this Triumph brand before, I had only heard good things about it, but I have owned this motorcycle, I am like a kid who uses a nice toy , I owned BMW Ducati before, there are only positives, at the start lesson of the exhaust a marvel, I have no complaints about your shock absorbers, the saddle and soft enough to do many kilometers, with my 1.72 m, it's perfect, my feet, touching the ground, which is good, it's really finished. the finish is perfect for me I don't find it heavy it's like riding a bike it doesn't consume much. I noticed I don't even do 4 liters per 100, the only thing I would like to improve is the indicators. They don't come back automatically and the problem is that I forget to put it back. I advise all motorcyclists to give it a try.

    oh man - everything on your comment ist wrong on your comment! If ABS is working correctly i the wheel isn’t going to lock ! Even without ABS you still need to use your front brake ( unless you dont want to brake at all) since the rear brake will lock as well and has only 20% work force to the whole break system. So …. if you decide to brake you need to use your front brake , but with a gently force . Any proper driving school will teach you how to do it . On top of it you should use your rear brake as well but with gentle force .

    Actually your figures aren't accurate. You say a kerb weight of 169 kg (this might be the dry weight). Kerb weight includes fluids (oil & fuel), with kerb weight for this motorcycle actually 196 kgs. Only 4 kg less than it's predecessor.

    The third example: I think similar to second example, the car had identified the motorbiker wanting to overtake, not undertake, and proceeded to move right to yield the space... Sadly, the rider overtook from the left and got hit. As you correctly said, the biker was more at fault then the driver. Riders should ALWAYS be on a defensive because they can never win in a collision with a vehicle.

    I always activate Pussy mode when riding in the rain ... 😅 Great tips. Sharing some of my own experience here: 1. Have been driving for over 20 years and riding for 2. Those metal plates are slippery AF even when not wet. Whether in a car or bike, try to straighten out your vehicle when crossing over them. 2. Paint road markings are slippery when wet. Try to avoid riding over them during the rain. 3. Be aware, and avoid if possible, the extreme left and right road shoulders as they are prone to water ponding during rain. 4. During rain, ride slow and avoid riding next to vehicles if possible, the big water splashes will temporarily blind you. I want a Pussy mode headbuff!!

    For foot rot, a few remedies i used myself. Mark, the pink/purple crystals u talking about is actually potassium permanganate crystals. they sell it in some bigger guardian pharmacies. These are the effective harsh remedies used to treat athletes foot. I seen in the Army when people report sick for severe foot rot, they come out with soaked and purple stained feet from these crystal soaks. There are typically 2 types of cream to treat fungal infections, one of it is to curb and stop fungal growth by starving them out. The other one which i found very effective, its main purpose is to kill. eliminate the fungal infection, offering a more effective and immediate solution. Its actually called LAMISIL and the other good thing about it is that its a GEL instead of a cream, it will be absorbed quickly and will not leave a sticky trail of mess.

    I just got a Speed Twin 900 as my 1st motorcycles 🏍️. It is absolutely awesome, I am 45 years old, 5ft 7inches. The 900 is a far better bike 🏍️ than 1200 This motorcycle has - Great 👍🏽 Ergonomics to sit and drive - High Torque which makes it FUN to drive - Easy to handle - Superb Sound better than the 1200 - Best Looking

    • @ianjames3078
      @ianjames3078 3 дні тому

      1200 has best engine, fantastic handling, the best sound and way better looking. The 900 looks like it is a child’s toy with that plastic looking front wheel with one disc. One clock? You need the twin clocks of the 1200. Everything says 1200……I guess 900 is better than nothing if you can’t afford or handle the 1200 and you are stuck in the city. Thankfully I have glorious mountains and countryside. Those mirrors! Get bar ends

  • @ripmax333
    @ripmax333 7 днів тому

    The 900 is just perfect for me, the 1200 is more performance and better suspension components, but the 900 for me is more versatile, I can also go a bit of light offroad with a bash plate fitted and pirelli STR'S tires, the 18inch front makes it a bit easier in these situations, plus it's lighter.

    Thanks -good review! I've owned the 900 for the best part of a year. I traded in my KTM SDR 1290 because while the performance and comfort were epic, the servicing bills were eye watering. The Triumph handles beautifully and makes the most gorgeous sound. It's worth upgrading the pipes, saddle, rear suspension and sticking on a fly screen. While the KTM demanded to be thrashed, the 900 gives you all the pleasure at low RPM and demands that you relax and enjoy your journey. If you're tall or spend significant time on motorways, it's not a great choice but if you have managed to get beyond the need for face melting performance, it's a really Zen bike to ride. While I've not ridden the 1200, I have owned a couple of Speed Triples, a Street Triple and a couple of Sprint STs; obviously the 900's performance is not comparable but there's something quite intangibly pleasing about owning a bike that's designed to get you from A to B with a smile on your face rather than a riding a muscly behemoth.

    This is the exact context / discussion I was missing , regarding a direct comparison between the 900 and 1200. Thank you so much! Thank you for highlighting the differences in the type of rider one may be when considering both options - I’m definitely much more of a “slow down and take in the sights” kind of rider these days. Plus, you made me think about WHY I’m even considering buying another bike and why I’ve landed originally on the speed twin in the first place - what I ride now and what I’ve ridden in previous years have really lacked that LOW end torque and GRUNT from the engine, as well as a smoother/easier clutch and responsive throttle. I just want to be chill, take b roads and explore in comfort and style 😂 After weeks of researching, and after trying out both bikes , I know I’m picking up the 900, even though my local dealer has a 2023 1200 for the exact same price, in a color I absolutely hate. Thanks for this, and subbed!
